Questions we hear most
How much does a remodel cost?
It depends on the size and the level. As a guide: a cosmetic kitchen or bath usually runs $20,000 to $40,000, a pull and replace bath $30,000 to $80,000, a pull and replace kitchen $50,000 to $90,000, and a custom reconstruction $80,000 to $150,000 and up. Additions and ADUs start around $150,000. See the cost guides for detail.
What happens at the free consultation?
A C&R consultant comes to your home, listens to what you want, looks at the space and gives you a ballpark budget. No pressure. If it feels like a good fit, the next step is a detailed proposal.
How does your design process work?
Four phases: Explore (consultation, then a detailed proposal for a $100 feasibility fee), Design (a planning agreement, usually 5% of the projected budget and credited toward your contract), Remodel (pre-construction meeting, published schedule, dust protection) and Completion (punch list, close-out visit and a two year warranty).
How long does a remodel take?
Most bathrooms take 3 to 6 weeks of construction and most kitchens 4 to 8 weeks. Additions and whole house remodels take longer and are scheduled after design and permitting.
Can we live at home during construction?
Usually, yes. We install dust protection and HEPA air scrubbers, clean up daily and keep the schedule online so you always know what is next.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. C&R is licensed, bonded and insured in Oregon, CCB #1932.
Do you offer financing?
We do not offer project financing at this time.
Do you warranty your work?
Yes, every project comes with a two year warranty, and we are still here if you need us after that. We have been in Salem since 1961.
What areas do you serve?
Salem and the Willamette Valley, including Keizer, McMinnville, Newberg, Independence, Monmouth, Stayton, Silverton, Dallas, Woodburn and Wilsonville. If you live outside Oregon, give us a call.
